What is ESNNA?

The acronym ESNNA stands for the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents. It refers to situations where minors are exposed to any form of sexual or erotic activity to satisfy the interests or desires of third parties, through coercion or in exchange for monetary or other types of benefits.
It is considered a sexual crime, among others, making sexual proposals to minors through technological means, blackmail, and the distribution of audiovisual material with sexual content.

What is child sex tourism?

Child sex tourism refers to the exposure of children and adolescents to sexual activities, either physically or digitally, through modern communication and information technologies. This includes online grooming, sexting, sexual extortion, and any act that violates or deprives minors of their rights.

Prevention of ESNNA

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) carries out actions to prevent sexual abuse of minors through various initiatives, including raising awareness among service providers, tourists, students, teachers, and authorities about this crime.
Law No. 28251 against sexual abuse and exploitation establishes penalties for individuals involved in the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents within the tourism sector. Penalties may reach up to 30 years of imprisonment.
We must not only reject ESNNA, but also raise awareness about the legal consequences and act as agents of prevention. Any act of ESNNA must be reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
